When the light of the sun fall down to the sand, it looks like the sand is not sand. As if they were pearl! The sands are burning bright from taking the light of sun.

The cycle of sun shine, sea water and sandy beach ruled on the creation of the world. This cycle is vast here in the Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach. There is proper scope to rest inside the garden and you can easily verbalize your own thought to your soul mates. You may bow down your hate to the Almighty God who created this kind of limitless beauty. When the sea birds fly on the sky, you may eagerly want to be a bird to fly with them. The wind come from the sea will soothe your tiresome soul. You may forget the problematic city life and your personal problem also. The sun rise and sun set on the sandy beach is particularly a matter of specialty. When the sun rise from the eastern side of the sea, it looks like a fiery round shape globe is coming from the sea. And when the sun set on the west there create an environment of heavenly beauty. As if the fiery round globe is calm down in the sea water. What do I say about the moonlit night in the sea beach? Soft and adorable light of moon will embrace you with its beauty and magnetizing power.

Things you can do:

Walk on the worlds longest sea beach

Take a walk!! Take a walk along with the sea. Enjoy the wave and the wind. Enjoy the sandy beach. Take a deep breath - you can smell the sea. You can smell the freshness and feel the universal peace deep inside your mind. If you are physically fit, I will suggest to walk at least from Laboni beach to Kolatali point (#3 beach). Morning is the best time to walk along the beach because at morning, the sea will have low tide. So water goes far and beach is clean. But you will have less waves. But at the afternoon-evening, that is high tidal time, water comes closer, waves are high. You can enjoy both the beauty according to your choice.

Enjoy the sunset at the beach

Sun is the power house of the solar planet. At the evening, sun disaapears in such a manner that it drowning into deep blue sea with all of its power. Its taking out all of your pain and leaving a calm and quite night for you. You can enjoy sunset and forget all of  your pain and sadness in a wink of eye. You can enjoy the evening at the beach as long as you want, enjoy the fresh air, enjoy the sky full of stars. If you have a moonlit night at cox's bazar beach, your are a lucky man. Feel it!

Take a sunbath

At any given sunny day, I am sure your most desirable things to do at cox’s bazar is to take a sun bath. Give your body and mind a treat of tranquility at the water of blue ocean. You can plunge into water, take a little swim and play with your mates. There are many other activities such as riding speed boat, riding water bike, floating with a tire etc, you can treat yourself with these things at the time of your bath. But remember, don’t go deep if you do not know how to swim. And do not plan to drink the water of the sea. It tastes awful.

Ride a speed boat

At the day time, you can ride speed boat and surf into the sea beach. There are many speed boat rides available in sharing basis and it costs about Tk 100 per person per ride. You can play with the wave through the speed boat ride. Although this ride lasts for very small duration, its pretty enjoyable with friends and family.

Enjoy surfing at the 120 Km long beach at summer

Surfing is a very challenging and enjoyable sports, and newly inaugurated in Bangladesh. There is a club named Cox’s Bazar Life Saving and Surf Club who arrange all the instruments and instructions for surf lovers. You can locate them at Laboni beach.

Enjoy a ride with water bike

Are you scared? Prove that you are not scared by taking a ride with water bike at the beach. It runs in a great speed and above the wave. A ride of water bike will take Tk 150 - Tk 200 per head. Don’t worry, they don’t go very deep. And life savers are always there.

Visit the light house

Cox’s bazar light house signals for all ships floating around Cox’s bazar bay. Its on the top of the hill of cox’s bazar. You can go to visit there. But you will need to climb a hill for that. But you can enjoy at a glance view of Cox’s bazar city and panorama of the sea beach. Magnificent place for photographers with well equipped photographic gears.

Go shopping

Are you a shoppoholic? There are a lot of enjoyment for you as well at the worlds longest sea beach. You can collect souvenir of various type of oyster-made ornaments for women, you can shop for beach shorts and shirts, hats, and other gears. You can go to Cox’s bazar market named Burmese market. You can shop for tribal clothes, pickles, sandals and most of everything - dry fish. Cox’s bazar is a heaven for dry fish. You can purchase theme from both burmese market and market near #2 beach. You can purchase a great variety of dry fish from cox’s bazar.

Though you not book any seat in the hotel, you can get meal or breakfast of those hotel or any hotel’s restaurants. 5star or 4star hotels like Sea gull, Sea Queen, Prashad Paradise, Kollol etc have their own rich restaurants and they are not cheap as I see. Mid range restaurants may cost 100-150 per meal and High Class restaurants may charge 250-500 BDT per meal. You can cook your meal as some hotels provide attached kitchen. If you go here with picnic party or big team, and want to cook food, consult it with the hotel authority. They can manage you the place where you can cook. But don’t do this without the permission of the hotel authority. Some Hotels offer BBQ facilities at night at the outdoor space of the hotel premise. They only take charge for food not the arrangement. They do this for the enjoyment of the tourists. Really Cox’s Bazar is such a nice place where you can stay and enjoy much delight. You have to inspect all essential matter about restaurant and then reserve a hotel. Please don’t drink alcohol at the out door of the hotel because Bangladesh is a religious country. Drinking alcohol is prohibited here socially and lawfully.

Shopping

Cox’s Bazar is not an real shopping destination traditionally. However, there are many tourists shops next to the hotel area. In addition there is a market in Cox’s Bazar town where you can buy local products at very reasonable prices. Popular souvenirs are for example textiles and handicrafts.Shopping in Cox’s Bazar can be one of the most favorite who want to preserve souvenir while going outdoor for traveling. A number of Shopping centers at Cox’s Bazar have been established to meet the needs of the tourists. After leisurely walking in the sandy beaches you can enjoy Shopping in Cox’s Bazar. There are plenty of small shops established in the sea beach of Cox’s Bazar. They sell souvenirs and essential products made of a shell which is locally known as ‘Jhinuk’.

You can also buy designed knives, sports products, souvenirs, and handicrafts at the Burmese Market of Cox’s Bazar Town. In the market of Cox’s Bazar you can find many female sales people who are very smart and attractive. Almost all the sales girl of the Cox’s Bazar Burmese Market is ‘Rakhain’, one of the major tribal community of Bangladesh. Most of the tourists go St. Martin’s Island via Teknaf from Cox’s Bazar. Teknaf Burmese Market is one of the popular places for the tourists for shopping. It is bigger than the Burmese Market sited in Cox’s Bazar. Don’t miss the Teknaf Burmese Market while visiting Teknaf. Pickle made by jujube (Boroi er Achar) is a mouth watering junk food. All products you can find is low priced and standard in all circumstances. You are suggested to have extra money in your pocket while visiting Cox’s Bazar for shopping. You can also buy Dry fish at the Cox’s Bazar’s Beach, Cox’s Bazar Town or Teknaf. There are various kinds of Dry Fish. Among them Rupchada and Loitta is more popular. Dry Rupchada may cost 400 BDT per kg and Dry Loitta may cost 250 BDT per kg. Locally Dry Fish is called ‘Shutki’!

Nearer Spots

If someone goes to Cox’s Bazar, his or her main attraction will become the sea beach. But there are many other options are waiting for you too. You can roam around some other excellent tourist's spots while visiting Cox’s Bazar. Here is some information:

Moheshkhali Island:

Moheshkhali is an wonderful island in the Bay of Bengal in the north-western directions off Cox’s Bazar. The Moheshkhali island is full with woody hills and some mangrove flora next to the coastal shore. The ancient Adinath Temple at the top of hill and the Rakhain villages with their colorful Buddhist temple has got huge tourist’s attractions. Millions of Hindu devotees meet together during the festival at the Aditinath Temple (mid Falgun) in Moheshkhali every year. It will take you around 15-25 minutes to reach the island. If you are using a trawler (small engine boat), it will take you 65 taka for the lift. The trawler journey is exciting one, and I have enjoyed the ride. Hope you will do so.

After arriving Bandarban, You have to manage a Land Rover or ‘Chander Gari’, a special kind of land cruiser of Bandarban to go to Nilgiri. The drivers of these cars are very expert. You shouldn’t take your own car or other vehicles because the road of Bandarban is typically narrow and serpentine.

So it will be better to get a chander gari or a land rover. These cars  will take you to Nilgiri within 1.30 hours. They will take a charge at about 2000-2500 taka. For your concern I can mention, Land Rover or a private car is more safer than a Chander Gari. But if you search for excitement, withiout any doubt Chander Gari (literally Car of Moon) is more preferable. Nilgiri authority has a large parking place. They take charge for every car, bus and even motorbike. Parking charge for Bus to motorbike upto 400-30 BDT.

Accomodation

As Nilgiri is a beautiful resort and tourist’s spot, it is better for you to stay one night here to experience some awesome moments of your life. But the cost of Nilgiri resort for staying is not cheap at all! So take your decision to keep on here considering your pockets condition! This top most resort has only 5 cottages and the authority also provide tent for the visitors. The lodging charge is at around BDT 2500-5500 including vat and service charges.

Here is the contact number of the authority for booking. It will be a wise decision to book a lodge before you go there. Recently I go there and find some tent provided by the authority. And yes, the rent of Tent facilities is not so cheap! They take 400-500 taka for it. Tent living is not so comfortable but for the people who love adventure, it can be an amazing experience.

Army man can get special priority for the lodge and cottages. But if it is not booked by any army and the lodge may vacant any day, you can reserve it. But it is so scarce happening. Most of the time Nilgiri remains booked. So try to contact the authority before three month to stay here. The tent is ready for you for short notice but you know it is a busy tourist’s spot. So book this before you get there.

Contact Number of Nilgiri:  01190811322, 01925882338.
